Research says Ampalaya and Momordica charantia Kill Cancer Cells

According to a research published at Oncology Journal* of PubMed.gov, scientists believed that the solution against cancer, one of the most feared and infamous diseases of the 21st century, depends in chemical substances found in Ampalaya or Bitter Melon that could kill cancerous cells including the destruction of reverse metabolism.

The Philippine Herbal Medicine Journal says, “Ampalaya (Bitter Melon) having scientifically named Momordica charantia, is a climbing vine and the tendrils of which grow up to 20 centimeters long. This herbal plant belongs to the family of Cucurbitaceae. It is a tropical as well as a subtropical vine. Ampalaya leaves are heart-shaped, which are 5 to 10 centimeters in diameter. The fruits of the Ampalaya vine are fleshy green with pointed ends at length. The bitter taste of the this fruit had also been the distinguishing factor from the rest of the fruits with medicinal value, and this is due to the presence of a substance known as momorcidin.”

Eating or drinking the juice from the bitter melon can lower the risk of certain types of cancer, and it is also known to decrease and kill leukemic cancer cells. The spreading of cancer cells can also be stopped by taking its juice and increase chances of a full recovery. In the US, a test for 35,000 people between 2001 and 2014 found taking too many vitamin E tablets increased the risk of developing prostate cancer by 17%. Dr Byers stressed “We have discovered that taking extra vitamins and minerals do more harm than good.” You can get the required vitamins and minerals through the healthy fresh food that we eat. This is not to discourage taking those commercial vitamins and minerals, to have the right amount of it is still good but as the famous line says, “there is no substitute for good fresh clean food.”

Study On Genetic Test For Chemotherapy For Early Stage Of Breast Cancer

Recent studies showed that a genetic test was successful in predicting which patients with early-stage of breast cancer are unlikely to benefit from chemotherapy was published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
The study measures on the performance and validity of a genetic test known as Oncotype Dx. Dr. Joseph Sparano from Montefiore Medical Center in New York headed the research with his colleagues. Their findings are recently presented at the 2015 European Cancer Congress in Vienna, Austria.
For the test to be valid, 21 breast cancer related genes in the breast must have been found, yielding a score that anticipates a risk of breast cancer recurrence. The higher scores mean a greater risk for recurrence, score ranges 0 -100. The study picked participants about 10,273 women ages 18-75 who are in early-stage, hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
Through the Oncotype DX test, the researchers come up with these figures:
16% of the participants got the score of 10 and below which means that they are those who were at low risk for breast cancer recurrence, 67% scored 11-25 which were categorized as an intermediate risk and 17% got a score of 26 and higher considered as the high risk for recurrence.
